Principal's MessageOak Avenue Reading Night on Wednesday, March 13th, was a great success! We had lots of students and their families that came back to school in the evening. Students and families had the opportunity to listen to stories read by teachers, design their own constellations, create origami art, write poems, etc. The Greenfield Community Science Workshop volunteers brought a whale skeleton for students to observe and study. Students used PVC pipes to make and drive their underwater robots in a pool of water. They even tried their hand at launching paper board rockets and observe how high their rockets could fly. It was an evening filled with fun, laughter, and lots of learning. The Reading Night culminated on a high note with numerous students winning raffle prizes. A big “Thank You” to all that volunteered to help and make this reading night a great success!
I want to remind all families again about the importance of being at school every day on time. Many students are coming in late each day and are missing out on important learning. We are getting closer and closer to the end of the year STAR test (California Standards Test, CSTs) and we do not want your child to miss out on any academics because they are not at school or come in tardy/late to school. Please make sure your child comes to school every day on time. The first bell (to remind students to line up) rings at 8:02 am and the second bell (to remind students to be in class) rings at 8:10 am . All students are expected to be in class by 8:10 am. I also want to encourage you to speak to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress at school. Our staff is more than willing to answer any questions that you may have. Swati Dagar- Principal Together in Education - Today's Learners Tomorrow's Leaders
